Bliadhn’ Ùr Mhath, Happy New Year!

More people, more paddling, more often.

Bliadhn’ Ùr Mhath, Happy New Year!

2019 was a big year for PaddleMore with lots of background work bringing us to finally going live in October, but it’s not the end of the secret projects, so keep watching as we roll into the new year.

2020 is shaping up to be an excellent year for us. You’ll no doubt have read Ellie’s fantastic post “Adventure doesn’t always mean extreme!” and we already have a stack of great stories to share with you on #featurefriday every second Friday.  If you want to be featured and have a story to tell, drop us an email to contact@paddlemore.co.uk.

We’re really excited to tell you that we’re going to be launching #spotlightsunday as we kick off 2020. This is a quickfire fortnightly special where we find out all about an inspirational paddler, what makes them tick and why they love paddling. If you have any suggestions of who you would like us to chat to, let us know and we’ll work our magic!

As you know, PaddleMore isn’t just about us, it’s about you! So we’ve spoken to some of you to see what your paddling plans are for 2020 and we want to hear loads more. We can add any and all of them to this page and you can come back and we’ll review them as 2020 comes to a close. Hopefully if you don’t have a paddling resolution, some of these might inspire you to think outside the box when it comes to being on the water.

So without further ado, welcome to the new decade, 2020, PaddleMore style.

Nicola “Nessa”

“Heading to the Ardeche to paddle in the sun for work, and be stoked forever!”

Terry

“In 2020 I’m going to up my kayaking game, get out and paddle with new folks.”

Tay (from Dad Jonnie)

“Tay’s love of the outdoors has given him a passion to protect the planet. He’s hoping to organise some family paddle and litter pick days in the Tay this year and hopes you’ll all join him.”

Aimee

“For me, this new year will be all about friends and taking as many opportunities as possible to adventure together!  ?☺️”

 Viks

“I’ve paddled a lot of new stuff overseas over the last few years but I still have some habitual hang ups about stuff here. For 2020 I’d like to paddle some new rivers I’ve never done in Scotland. It’s time to stretch the comfort zone!”

Jamie and Ann

“In 2020 we aim to get out paddling with Arran. Show him why we love paddling and hopefully it will start a love of paddling and being on the water for him.”

Rob

“Explore and enjoy the rivers as vertically as possible. Encouraging others to play on the river and maybe even try some freestyle!”

Rosie

“I’ve been spending playing and working time on mountains, I want to get out more and fall back in love with paddling.”

Ellie

“To explore more of Scotland from a vessel that need to be paddled both with good friends and some solo adventures.”

Ella

“2020 will be the year I hope to do my British Canoeing Advanced White Water Kayak Leader Training.”

Glenn

“Running first descents in raft and kayak in Tazania!”

Phil

“I think more of the updating quals for me but ideally would love to get some multi days in and some harder WW kayaking.”

Stephen

“More big trips with new people for me.”

Vonna

“I would like to improve my paddling confidence in more challenging conditions (not F1-2). “

Will

“2020 started guiding in Patagonia. I hope to round Cape Horn, then return to build Kayak Summer Isles in Scotland. As always my main aim is type 1 / 2 fun.”
